Terms of Service

These terms cover the radon measurement service provided byBirmingham Radon. By booking a test, you agree to the terms below.

What the service is

We provide short-term radon testing: a sealed, continuous monitor is deployed in your property for a minimum 48-hour period following the ANSI/AARST measurement protocol, then the recorded data is sent to an independent laboratory for scoring. We deliver you the resulting report. We do not perform radon mitigation, do not install fans or sealing systems, and do not sell or recommend specific mitigation contractors as part of this service.

Pricing

Our published price for a standard test is $295. Any change to pricing will be reflected on this site before you book — we do not add fees after the fact.

Scheduling and access

You are responsible for providing access to the property for monitor placement and pickup, and for maintaining "closed-house" conditions during the test window as instructed at deployment (keeping doors and windows closed, normal HVAC operation). Test results can be affected by conditions outside our control, including how the closed-house conditions were maintained during the window.

Cancellation and rescheduling

Plans change, especially around real estate closings. If you need to reschedule or cancel a deployment, contact us as soon as you know — the earlier we hear from you, the easier it is to accommodate. Where a cancellation affects monitor availability or lab processing already underway, we will discuss it with you directly rather than apply a blanket policy.

Report delivery

Once the lab has scored your test, we deliver the report to you directly. Reports reflect the independent lab's reading of the data recorded by the monitor during your specific test window.

The limitation that matters most

A radon test is a snapshot, not a certification. The report reflects radon concentrations measured during the specific test window under the conditions present at that time. Radon levels in a home can vary with weather, season, HVAC use, and structural changes. A single test — ours or anyone else's — does not guarantee future readings will match past ones.
